Let’s Get Ready!

If your youngsters aren’t out yet, they are about to be…so what do we do now?

Summer vacay is GREAT, but it can also be a time of kids losing their routines, sleep patterns, activity and brain cells.

Today we are going to talk about ways we can all have a fun and fit summer along with our entire family.

13 Ways to Move More As a Family

By Katy Bowman

  1. Take a “tree walk” and work with your kids to identify trees in your area, including ones you can visit.
  2. Create a list of local farms – use internet, friends, farmers’ market contacts and visit a few of them.
  3. Make lemonade or orange juice! Buy or pick citrus and squeeze it by hand to make fresh juice.
  4. Shake-shake-shake a jar of cream to make butter; you can even do it outside!
  5. Take a “bouquet-making walk” or for a nature arrangement.
  6. Evaluate three kid-outfits for movement. Can kids squat, bend at the waist, raise their arms overhead comfortably?
  7. Hang up an “Eye Stretch!” sign in one window to encourage distance-looking and a dose of natural light. Download it here.
  8. Rearrange the furniture in at least one room to allow for more movement in your home.
  9. Five-minute dance party! Have kids pick a few songs and try to dance non-stop.
  10. Find the nearest climbing tree and practice climbing it.
  11. Wake up super early for a family sunrise walk (bring a portable breakfast along!).
  12. Take a family hike and invite a couple of extra kids to come with you.
  13. Set up a nature game, like hoops and spears — where you throw long sticks or poles through hula hoops.

Family Time

It’s true that a family that moves together, stays together!  I may have made that up, but I DO believe it’s true.  I’m all for family movie night with bags of popcorn and big blankets, don’t get me wrong.  I’m just also very aware of how easy it is to let summer vacay derail an entire year of routine. Plus, it doesn’t matter how old they are, kids really DO love spending quality time with their parents.  Even teenagers!

Nutrition Gaps

I don’t know about you, but summer tends to lend itself to the occasional routine buster.  With travel or friends visiting and even a house full of neighborhood kiddos, it’s easy to forget to take your vitamins.  One thing I just ramped up with is my Meyers Cocktail.  I give it to my entire family.  My boys are 6 feet tall and well over 140 pounds and have a lot of growing left to do.  Not to mention their baseball, football, tennis and church camps that can leave them EXHAUSTED.  One dose of Meyers every couple of weeks is a game changer…

Key Ingredients in the Myers’ Cocktail

Magnesium Chloride

Helps in the prevention of inflammation, and is also important in supporting a robust immune system. Magnesium chloride is also beneficial in the treatment of asthma, migraines, and high blood pressure.

Calcium Gluconate

Helps to boost blood calcium, an essential element in building strong bones.

Vitamin B Complex

The eight B vitamins in B complex are crucial for promoting healthy hair and skin, preventing memory loss, and managing stress.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that can strengthen your immune system. Studies show that consuming more vitamin C can increase your blood antioxidant levels by up to 30%.

This blend of ingredients has a range of benefits and work together to boost your overall health and wellness.

Health Benefits of Myers’ Cocktail

  1. A Stronger Immunity to Beat Colds and Flus –

Due to the high dosage of Vitamin C one of the primary benefits of a Myers’ IV is to strengthen your immunity and ward off frequent colds and flu.

  2. Better Nerve Health to Fight Fibromyalgia –

Vitamin B12 plays a key role in nerve health, and a deficiency in the body is associated with nerve damage that could lead to fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a condition that affects how nerves send impulses to muscles, and therefore a good dosage of Vitamin B12 can help boost nerve health and possibly reduce fibromyalgia symptoms.

  3. Improved Memory –

Deficiencies in Vitamin B12 and Vitamin C are associated with poor memory performance and your ability to recall information. As the brain ages, it starts to lose neurons that store memories, which ultimately leads to memory loss. Although this process cannot be halted, it can be slowed down through regular treatments of Vitamin B12 and High Dose Vitamin C.

  4. Supports Bone Health –

Calcium Gluconate is used to prevent or treat low blood calcium levels and it can be used to treat conditions caused by low calcium levels. Calcium plays a very important role in the body. It is necessary for normal functioning of nerves, cells, muscle, and bone. If there is not enough calcium in the blood, then the body will take calcium from bones, thereby weakening bones. Having the right amount of calcium is important for building and keeping strong bones.

  5. Boosted Energy Levels –

B complex vitamins play an essential role in your body’s energy production. Vitamin B12 in particular has energy-boosting traits that when taken, can immediately help you feel more energized.

  6. Help Prevent & Treat Migraines –

Studies have found that people who suffer from migraines are more likely than others to be magnesium deficient. There is also evidence to suggest that it can also provide relief from an acute migraine attack more quickly and effectively than a common medication.

  7. Improves Blood Health & Circulatory System –

Healthy blood is rich in iron and is made up of healthy and numerous red blood cells. Vitamin B12 plays a central role in the production of red blood cells, while Vitamin C aids red blood cells to absorb iron and can help significantly reduce bad cholesterol. Low Vitamin C levels can hamper iron absorption, leading to anaemia.

  8. Improved Mood and Vitality –

Serotonin plays an important role in mood regulation, and Vitamin B12 plays an important role in the synthesis of serotonin. Healthy levels of serotonin can help your mood be properly regulated. A well-regulated mood can ward off depression, anxiety, and other mood-related conditions.

Mom and Dad Time…

Summer also brings the opportunity to try new things.  If your love life could use a little spicing up, maybe consider T-Therapy.

Stats on That…

New research suggests that one out of 3 men over 30 have low testosterone levels.

As men age, they are more likely to experience symptoms such as lack of sex drive and erectile dysfunction as a result of low levels of testosterone, the researchers explain.

Low testosterone can indicate androgen deficiency if it is accompanied by low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, osteoporosis or fracture, and two or more of the following: sleep disturbance, depressed mood, lethargy or diminished physical performance.

“Low levels of testosterone impact many aspects of male physiology,” lead author Andre B. Araujo, a research scientist at the New England Research Institutes in Watertown, Mass., said in a prepared statement. “This is particularly significant because the ongoing aging of the U.S. male population is likely to cause the number of men suffering from androgen deficiency to increase appreciably.”

Based on these results, the researchers predict that by 2025 there may be as many as 6.5 million American men between 30 and 79 years of age with symptomatic androgen deficiency, an increase of 38 percent from the year 2000 population estimates.

Women …

A woman’s testosterone levels naturally change throughout her life, her menstrual cycle, and even at different times of the day. A woman with low testosterone does not contain enough to help produce new blood cells, maintain sex drive, or boost levels of other reproductive hormones.

Testosterone belongs to a group of hormones known as androgens. Testosterone levels affect:

  • fertility
  • sex drive
  • red blood cell production
  • muscle mass and fat distribution

Most people think of testosterone as a male sex hormone, but everyone requires a certain amount. While males have more testosterone than females, female adrenal glands and ovaries produce small amounts of this hormone.

According to the University of Rochester Medical Center, a woman should have a total of 15–70 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dl) of testosterone in her blood.

Symptoms

Share on PinterestA woman with low testosterone may feel tired and lethargic.

Low testosterone can cause one or more of the following symptoms in women:

  • sluggishness
  • muscle weakness
  • fatigue
  • sleep disturbances
  • reduced sex drive
  • decreased sexual satisfaction
  • weight gain
  • fertility issues
  • irregular menstrual cycles
  • vaginal dryness
  • loss of bone density

Causes

The two main causes of low testosterone are:

  • diminishing levels of the hormone as a normal result of menopause and aging
  • problems with the ovaries or the pituitary or adrenal glands.

Testosterone decreases naturally as a woman ages. Levels of other hormones, such as estrogen, also reduce over time, especially when a woman reaches menopause.

Around the time that menopause begins, a woman may be more likely to have less testosterone because the ovaries are producing fewer hormones.

I’m Just Sayin…

I am SUPER thankful for T-therapy.  It has changed my life in ways I could have never imagined.  I have more energy, I’m definitely less grouchy and I’m the one initiating a roll in the hay more and more.  I should probably have my husband write a personal testimony about why HE loves that I take it.  The biggest notifier is when I don’t take it or forget to take it.  It is obvious when I am getting low in testosterone and I hate the feeling.  I’ve gotten so used to feeling so great all the time.  I LOVE T-Therapy!!!!

Skin Therapy

I LOVE the SUN, but I also LOVE trying to keep it as wrinkle free as possible.  Glutathione is a wonderful way to give your skin an extra bit of summer lovin while sunnin.

How Sermorelin Counteracts Skin Aging

As we get older, our bodies produce increasingly less of certain hormones. One of the most notable hormones that are affected by the aging process are human growth hormones. Also known as HGH, human growth hormones are vital for healthy growth, cell regeneration and cell production. This means that growth hormones are responsible for many functions, including repairing body tissue that may be damaged, such as in the case of an injury.

Sun Damage

Our skin becomes much more prone to damage as we age. This is largely because our natural production of collagen and elastin – the building blocks of healthy skin – starts to diminish. As a result, the skin becomes thinner and less elastic than it was before, making it more fragile and susceptible to damage caused by oxidative stress. Another key contributor to skin damage is the sun, which produces ultraviolet radiation that passes into the skin and causes cellular changes that result in issues such as hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles.

Sermorelin stimulates the production of growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH). Skin regenerates approximately every 27/28 days, with the old layer shedding and revealing new skin beneath. By boosting your production of GHRH, the new skin that is being produced will contain more elastin, collagen and other important components that make it healthier, stronger, more vibrant and more youthful in appearance.
