Anxious Ann and Andy- Wrap Up

“I really love the way I feel whenever I am anxious,” said no one ever!  Anxiety is inevitable, but we are doing everything we can to rid your life of it.

Order Up

I need an order of a happy slice of life, 86 the anxiety, topped with whip cream, Charlie! And make it snappy!

We’ve been talking about anxiety and how it can affect everything we do, every decision we make and take control of our every thought.  Here’s a thought…

ANXIETY IS NOT REAL!

Think about that statement for a few minutes…

Actual anxiety is typically an exaggerated reality that we create in our minds and our reaction to the anxiety IS REAL. But usually, anxiety itself isn’t made from 100% truth.  There is a statement that goes something like this…

Pay attention to the 2% of truth in everything and drown out the remaining 98% that is typically background noise.

Anxiety starts with the background noises.  We pay attention to the 98% and ignore the 2% truth, it’s our basic human instinct to do this.  We create these false realities or scenarios in our minds, and they come from caring what other people think.  It doesn’t matter who you are, everyone cares about what other people think.  Otherwise, we wouldn’t strive to impress our boss, or make our parents proud, or woo that special someone.  It’s imbedded in all of us, and it is precisely the reason for the attention we give to the background noise.

What is Background Noise?

Here’s an example of a typical situation that can cause undue anxiety and eventually cost someone their job and their friendships.

Tina worked as a schoolteacher and loved her job, for the most part.  She’s won Teacher of the Year for 2 years in a row, had countless accolades and accomplishments, and was studying to become a principal.  She has made some wonderful friendships over the years and things were going pretty great.  Until one day when Tina overheard one of her co-workers complaining that she wasn’t doing a very good job lately.  This shocked Tina and caused her to immediately start questioning everything she was doing as a teacher.  She couldn’t figure out why this person would say that about her, and so the seed of anxiety is planted.

The 2% Truth Method

What Tina failed to think about was the fact that this other teacher (whom was also her friend) was studying to become a principal as well.  This would be the 2% of the story that involves truth.  At the end of the semester, someone would be chosen to intern with their principal at their school.  This placement was coveted by several teachers on the principal path.  Tina could have easily out that statement in the trash knowing that a competition such as that COULD cause even the best of friends to say unkind things in an effort to better themselves.  Tina could’ve easily taken a few minutes to reflect on her job and how she was REALLY doing and laugh it off.  Unfortunately, this isn’t what most people do.  Most people begin to overthink and worry and analyze, again, all roads lead to more anxiety.

The 98% Noise Factor

With Tina, what started out as an overheard statement that was false lead her down a path of serious self-doubt.  She became so anxious and depressed, she began to act differently to everyone.  Tina pushed people away and was rarely present in her classroom due to her lack of sleep and self-care.  She was bitter and argumentative at home and lost interest in the thins she’d always loved to do.

This all could have been avoided had Tina just paid attention to the 2% truth.  So, what to do now?

Getting Back to Solidarity!

Once we spiral down a path of anxiousness, our chemicals can permanently change without much warning.  These changes start from within and eventually show in everything we do.

Symptoms of Anxiety (Betterhelp.com)

People experience anxiety differently. And there are different types of anxiety disorders — some people have generalized anxiety disorder. Others may live with panic disorder. Some people may have difficulty with specific phobias. Despite there being differences between the types, here are some of the most common hallmarks of an anxiety disorder:

Excessive Worrying

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, individuals with anxiety disorders often worry excessively or have a sense of dread, usually lasting six months or longer. These anxious feelings can stem from school, the workplace, social interactions, personal relationships, health, or finances, to name a few causes. For those with anxiety, keeping these feelings under control can be challenging, even if they realize that their worries or fears are irrational.

Difficulties Sleeping & Restlessness

It is very common for anxiety to keep people awake at night, especially the night before an event that is contributing to the fear and tension. Getting a good night’s sleep can feel impossible for some individuals, who find themselves tossing and turning in bed because of anxiety. Sleep is essential for just about every function in the body, including your mental health. There are many ways for people to improve their sleeping habits, but those with severe anxiety and insomnia can benefit from consulting with a physician who can recommend a sleeping aid.

Fatigue

Even if the individual manages to get to sleep — and an adequate amount of it — someone who experience anxiety may feel unsatisfied, experience fatigue throughout the day, or become easily tired. Anxiety can be emotionally exhausting and can make getting through the day more cumbersome. When you are tired, your mood can also fluctuate, possibly leading to depression, a condition that is frequently comorbid with anxiety disorders.

Concentration Issues

Having difficulty concentrating is a common symptom of anxiety that can also be considered a side-effect of worry or sleep problems. If you struggle to complete work or school assignments and find yourself blanking out, anxiety may be to blame. Those who have this symptom might also procrastinate, either knowingly or unknowingly. That is, if they aren’t already distracted by anxious thoughts, they might find ways to distract themselves from those feelings and the things that are contributing to their stress.

Irritability & Tension

Anxiety can cause people to feel on edge frequently. Sometimes, those who are lost in thought about something worrisome might feel caught off-guard, or they might become easily angered and will lash out at others when stressed out. Individuals living with anxiety might also find that they lose their patience much quicker than in the past. Unfortunately, this common symptom can be detrimental to a person’s social life and personal relationships.

Increased Heart Rate & Palpitations

Some of the most prevalent physical symptoms of anxiety involve the heart. When faced with a situation that induces stress, a person may notice that his or her heart rate goes up or begins to feel irregular. These feelings are very common during panic attacks and are also often experienced by those with social anxiety disorder. Panic attacks are typically short-lived; but those with a panic disorder will experience them regularly.

Sweating & Hot Flashes

An increase in body temperature often comes from one’s heart rate and blood pressure going up. Therefore, those who have higher heart rates while experiencing anxious feelings may also find that they are feeling more body heat and sweating excessively.

Trembling & Shaking

The stress associated with anxiety can cause a person’s limbs to shake uncontrollably, especially the hands. There are different types of tremors, such as the ones that are associated with Parkinson’s Disease; however, the ones that are associated with anxiety are often caused by adrenaline and the fight-or-flight response. Although this feeling is temporary, it is still uncomfortable and can create more fear and anxiety.

Chest Pains & Shortness of Breath

Like the changes in heart and temperature, a person’s breathing may also be affected by anxiety. They may feel like they cannot get enough oxygen in their lungs and experience a sensation of tightness or pain in their chest. This is known as dyspnea and is a symptom of many different medical conditions.

Feelings of Terror or Impending Doom

These particular symptoms can be quite severe and paralyzing. A feeling that something bad is about to happen, or is in the process of happening, can sometimes appear out of nowhere. According to the American Psychological Association, these symptoms often pass within a few minutes, and although they are scary, they aren’t inherently dangerous and are sometimes disproportional to the actual events that cause anxiety and panic.

Fixing the Problem

First, if your symptoms are such that you feel you need professional help, we always encourage a good therapy session.  Heck, even if you don’t feel exceedingly overwhelmed, therapy can be a great way to prevent anxiety and learn ways to cope.  It’s also a great way to “talk it out,” with someone that is un-bias toward the situation.

Aside from talking to someone or getting in to see a doctor that specializes in mental health, Elite can help too.

Elite Products for Assisting Anxiety

Sermorelin

Sermorelin Can Improve Your Mood and Libido

A decline in HGH is often associated with mood disorders and a low libido because lower hormone levels can be associated with decreased energy levels. Restoring normal human growth hormone levels can provide a boost in energy and improve mood, and this can be helpful for treating mood disorders like anxiety and depression. A decreased libido is also associated with a decline in testosterone and estrogen production but restoring normal HGH levels has been shown to improve libido for both men and women. Patients also often experience an overall general feeling of well-being as the result of the treatment, even for patients who do not have any mood disorders or a low libido.

Glutathione

Research suggests that glutathione regulates glutamate, a vital neurotransmitter responsible for communication between nerve cells in the brain.  Some people with specific mood problems may have suboptimal glutamate activity, which can impact the health of nerve cells.  Preliminary studies suggest that the glutathione precursor known as NAC can support healthy brain-glutamate levels.

A 2020 analysis of several studies reported that, among those experiencing mood problems with repetitive thoughts, those who supplemented with Glutathione had fewer instances of repetitive thoughts and behaviors, as compared to a placebo group.

Increased Glutathione greatly diminishes acute anxiety and depression.  It is not a brain chemical altering medication; it works with your body to enhance already existing hormones.

Many researchers believe that oxidative stress is responsible for a range of brain and mental disorders. This includes common concerns such as memory issues, anxiety and concentration.

Your brain has to be able to counter these damaging effects. To do this, it depends on a good supply of antioxidants. However, it primarily uses glutathione. Thus, optimizing glutathione levels will help your brain function better in every way. This includes improved focus, concentration and memory. In fact, you’ll even notice an improvement in sleep.

Methylcarbylamine (Vitamin B-12)

Vitamin B12 improves your mood!

The effect of vitamin B12 on mood is not yet fully understood. However, this vitamin plays a vital role in synthesizing and metabolizing serotonin, a chemical responsible for regulating mood.

Therefore, vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to decreased serotonin production, which can cause a depressed mood.

Studies support the use of vitamin B12 supplements for improving symptoms of depression in people deficient in this vitamin.

One study in people with depression and low vitamin B12 levels found that those who received both antidepressants and vitamin B12 were more likely to show improved depressive symptoms, compared to those treated with antidepressants alone.

Another study discovered that Vitamin B-12 deficiency was associated with twice the risk of severe depression.

Tip of the Day:

Make Your Bed!  There is nothing better than coming home after a long day and crawling into bed, right?  Did you know that walking into a room that has a bed that is made automatically causes a rise in your mood?  Why? Because it gives a sense of peace, control and rest.  When we walk into a messy room with a messy bed, it can actually cause anxiety.  Our bodies want to feel comfy in our bed, therefore if it doesn’t appear comfy, our minds subconsciously react.  This is why vacationing is so fun, we walk into a picked-up room with a well-made inviting bed every day.  Soothe your senses by tucking in those sheets! Cheers to a well-made bed and a well-maintained mind!
