Irving, Texas \u2013 Feb 5, 2016 \u2013 The Expo Group was selected as the recipient of this year\u2019s Nelson Award by the Irving Convention and Visitor\u2019s Bureau at the Irving Hospitality Industry Annual Meeting on Tuesday afternoon.\u00a0 Named in honor of golfing great Byron Nelson, whose namesake PGA golf tournament has been played annually for over 30 years in the city of Irving, the Nelson Award recognizes an Irving-based company, organization, or individual that has put the city in a positive spotlight through public relations,\u00a0marketing or advertising.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy having a significant marketing, public relations, communications and social media presence in the exposition industry all while proudly maintaining an Irving dateline, The Expo Group was cited as bringing positive exposure to the city from all corners of the country,\u201d said Maura Gast, Executive Director of the Irving CVB.<\/p>\n

In addition, The Expo Group\u2019s longstanding local charitable efforts to area non-profits were recognized at the event.<\/p>\n
