Talk about practicing what we preach! With face-to-face meetings the lifeblood of this business, it\u2019s no wonder all employees of The Expo Group come in at least once a year for a week of education, inspiration and collaboration. The experience is designed to highlight our culture, present new initiatives and recognize amazing team members. (See who was honored with our annual awards here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

With 2016 being a significant year, the team honored the innovations and milestones of the company\u2019s 25-year history.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Kickoff event included presentations on the future of our major business initiatives from strategic leaders across several disciplines. With so much change on the horizon, enabled by technology and driven by clients\u2019 need for closer connections, the team collaborated on creative solutions to help clients perform at a higher level.<\/p>\n

Eric Payne, VP of Enterprise Operations, led an all-employee session about the impact of collaboration.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Culture counts, too. Coming face-to-face presents opportunities for employees to gather together on a personal level to make the kinds of connections that advance business forward. Sometimes they are even forced into groups unfamiliar to perform icebreaker exercises, the horror!<\/p>\n

A major highlight was a presentation with Jim Pittas, senior vice president\u00a0of PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. As a leader of PACK EXPO Services, Jim shared the story of how PES and The Expo Group came together over 10 years ago to deploy a new model for associations and trade shows,, in which PMMI became its own general contractor,\u00a0providing greater\u00a0exhibitor service\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span>with our Single Source\u00ae business model and technology and elevate\u00a0the attendee experience with more machines on the show floor.<\/span><\/p>\n
