Attending Expo! Expo! is always experiential as it\u2019s the one time I get to see what is new and exciting in our industry. This year did not disappoint as I walked away with several learnings.<\/p>\n

\nTechnology continues to dominate how we connect people.<\/h3>\n

Whether it was LED beMatrix panels in our own The Expo Group booth to VR experiences in the new Tech Startup Competition, technology as a disrupter and engager helped create a connection at the show.<\/p>\n

Big Data is now part of our industry but complexity remains in how to use it.<\/h3>\n

We often hear people talk about the importance of capturing data points but the ability to strategically utilize that data remains just as important.<\/p>\n

Content Curation is no longer a \u201cnice-to-have\u201d but a \u201cmust-have.\u201d<\/h3>\n

Weeding out the good from the bad adds value and brings opportunity.<\/p>\n

Associations are redefining their shows \u2013 creating new models for engaging exhibitors and attendees.<\/h3>\n

Not being afraid to challenge the status quo and beta test part of your show is a sure sign of growth and willingness to do what it takes to remain relevant in your industry.<\/p>\n

\nWe are definitely an international industry and growth will continue to come from global markets.<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s a global economy and we\u2019re seeing face-to-face marketing expand from around the world.<\/p>\n

Next year\u2019s IAEE Expo! Expo! will be held Dec. 11- 13 in New Orleans.<\/em><\/p>\n
