Know who you want to attract, their challenges and pain points, to know what Story to tell. Once you know that, decisions about Structure are more clear.<\/p>\n<p>When designing a booth for optimal ROI it\u2019s important to think about Story and Structure:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Story<\/strong> \u2013 Align in-booth content with visitor funnel stage. Make sure you have content that &#8220;meets&#8221;\u00a0visitors where they are in the solution searching stage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Structure<\/strong> \u2013 This should be \u2018scenario-based\u2019. Design the booth to best enable the most productive conversations with visitors in different numbers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Story First &#8211; Booth Design for Funnel Stage<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As you are developing content for the booth, remember that its likely you\u2019ll have visitors at different stages of their search:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Top-of-funnel<\/strong> \u2013 They are just beginning their search for a solution to the problem you solve and collecting information.<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Mid-funnel<\/strong> \u2013 There is a commitment to solve their problem and are actively engaged in finding a solution and solution provider.<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Bottom-of-funnel<\/strong> \u2013 They are ready to choose a solution provider.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This means that you have to be prepared with <em>different content ty<\/em>pes for prospects at each stage:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Go Broad<\/strong> &#8211; Those at the top of the funnel are seeking <em>category-level<\/em> information \u2013 bigger, broader, more educational content \u2013 so make sure you can provide these visitors with that level of content.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Compare and Contrast<\/strong> &#8211; Those mid-funnel are beginning to compare and contrast solutions from multiple solution providers \u2013 so be certain to provide them the tools you want them to have that favorably compares and contrasts your solution with others they may be evaluating.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Closing Content<\/strong> &#8211; At the bottom of the funnel you are getting closer to terms and conditions \u2013 make sure you have \u2018closing content\u2019 to get the deal done!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Scenario setting &#8211; Booth design for audience interaction type<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When designing a booth remember to include structural settings that enable multiple interaction types:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a01:1<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a01:few (3-5)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a01: many<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Combine the two for the most effective experience design<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The most effective experience, the one that will drive optimal results in your booth is when you combine Story and Structure \u2013 when you align engagement types and content, like this:<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 688px; height: 381px;\" border=\"1\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"1\" align=\"left\">\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">\n<h3>Structure<\/h3>\n<\/th>\n<th scope=\"col\">\n<h3>Story<\/h3>\n<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Enable 1:1\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Private conversations with as private a setting as your space and budget allows<\/td>\n<td>Content specific to the individual prospects\/customers&#8217; needs and structuring of a potential transaction<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Enable 1: few<\/strong>\u00a0 Audience interactions via semi-private conversations at kiosks, touchscreens or tablets<\/td>\n<td>More granular content that moves suspects and prospects to qualified opportunities<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Enable 1: many<\/strong>\u00a0 Presentations of overview content in open areas (this can also be used to attract traffic)<\/td>\n<td>General introductory overview information of features\/benefits<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Story + Structure = Success<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To maximize booth ROI, think Story first, then Structure, making sure to combine the two for the optimal visitor experience and the best results for your brand.<\/p>\n<h3>Like this article?
