Section 508 accessible screens work with a screen reader to enable learners who are blind, or have visual impairments to understand what is on the page by listening to a voice that “talks” and reads the text out to them. Screen readers cannot read images, but they can read out text that has been added into the description field of an image loaded into a Section 508 accessible screen template.
